This week during our meditative moments my thoughts have instantly gone to respect for the body. Imagine the things we could do if we lived everyday seeking gratitude for all the things that our body is capable of and does for us on a regular basis!
Gratitude is such a present emotion- it's in the here and now. Sometimes we can become distracted by well-meaning and wonderful goals and always be looking to the future for strength that we want to build and a physique that we wish to accomplish. But all that work towards those goals is happening right now! You are getting stronger, leaner, and more defined right now. Enjoy it, love it and be proud of your accomplishments now. Don't wait for results on a scale or in measurements. Your reward is how it feels to be working, moving and establishing connection with the body.
Tomorrow is made from the efforts of today. In fact, by the time that we reach tomorrow- it has become today. Cherish the present moment and don't wish to be any distant, future version of yourself. Yes, set goals. Whatever it is that you want to be/do tomorrow....or in many distant tomorrows- be and do it today. Start now. It is more than being on the path to what you want to become- you ARE what you want to become. That action and evolution begins with a decision today.
Want to be a fit/active/healthy person? Be fit, active and healthy today. See your efforts, however imperfect they may be, and be encouraged by them. Feel good about where you are right now! Rather than searching for motivation, seek to build habits.
Above all, speak and think kindly of your body. Because you are listening. And YOU deserve to hear a kind word. You deserve respect. That amazing body of yours deserve respect also.

I think this will be an added class on my regular schedule!

New at-home workout posted utilizing the small Pilates ball. This is a killer core workout working the abs and back.
Many clients and students that come in to work with me struggle with some kind of anxiety...worrying that perhaps they are too out of shape to work out or that I may be shocked to see some form of physical limitations in them. I'm not. The truth is that every single person that comes in here is stronger than they think and can do more than they know. It's my job to keep you safe, teach modifications and exercises to build strength and also to push you. The only way that you can prove to yourself that you can do it- is to try to do it.
Many people have goals to be thinner, leaner, stronger. The only thing in between where you are now and where you want to be is your own action. Do SOMETHING, do it consistently and don't give up. Results come as you practice consistently. (naturally I recommend that you you do barre and springboard Pilates- with me!)
Don't be afraid of your starting point. Be hopeful about where you are headed and be proud of the efforts that you are putting in along the way.
I leave you with a quote from Joseph Pilates himself (the creator and namesake of Pilates) :
"In 10 sessions you'll feel the difference, in 20 you'll see the difference, and in 30 you'll have a new body."
My thoughts on my Bennie Barre method: what feels incredibly challenging 1 week, will feel a little easier the next. The longer you keep at it the more you will look forward to the challenge of it. While your first barre class may leave you incredibly sore, know that you get stronger with each one. You are becoming aware of muscles and working them in a different ways then you previously have. But your body will build resistance and strength in those areas and become conditioned.
In conclusion, do not fear the action! Embrace it- and don't be afraid to try something new. The worst thing that can happen? You hate the class, feel like it's not for you and don't come back. The best thing? You love it- continue with it and start feeling and seeing differences in your body that make you feel amazing. And you are adding an important step in your fitness/health/wellness journey. And (shameless plug) at my prices, those sessions are extremely affordable. What do you have to lose????
I believe in the amazing abilities of the human body and I want YOU to believe in your own body. Come confidently to the barre or springboard- this is a safe place.

The flooring is in, the sound system installed and working beautifully, the barres and mirrors mounted and only 1 more springboard needs to be installed. We are all ready for barre classes, private training and the springboard classes will be available probably next week!
Besides me office space built in desk still in process, we are done! I have a survey that I would love for you to fill out regarding what classes and times you would like to see before I put out a regular schedule.
The studio is beautiful, the equipment is amazing and now all I need is YOU. HERE. :)

Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! While my home studio has been closed for construction I have been working hard on the studio itself and the choreography and work that we will be doing within its walls. One thing I know- the Bennie Barre studio will provide much opportunity to to build long, lean muscle, sculpt tone, and build body awareness and core strength.
I believe we will be operational and holding classes (and definitely private training) in the space before everything is 100% finished- because I just can't wait!
Stay posted- I can't WAIT for you to see it and I can't wait for you to experience everything that this new space will have to offer.
Thank you each and every one of you for your support! I can't wait to share this year with you at the barre and on the mat and springs!
In order to build something amazing sometimes you must tear down....and we are down to the very core of this space and preparing to rip a wall out. I can't wait to share the progress with you as well as the finished product.
