Building a home made jet engine using a electric compressor, spot welding, sheet steel, and some copper tubing to make a works like prototype of a jet engine.
This started out as an idea where I could build a small and functional jet engine and turned into a couple months of building testing and fixing the engine so that it worked seamlessly.
Throughout this project I exercised lots of caution having fire extinguishers, sand, fire blankets and personal protective equipment make sure I was as safe as possible throughout this project. While building this project I learned a lot about making parts from idea to reality and the troubles that come with making complex shapes. With some creativity and brute force the sheet metal could be molded into a cylinder. As this was a proof of concept I have plans to revisit this project and build a better version with all the skills I have learned.
