Meditation
Benjamin started meditating daily in 2004 when he started teaching yoga. In 2020, in honor of the new decade, he started recording his meditation sessions and uploading them to YouTube. After a random video of his went mildly viral, people started watching these also. We're not sure why. Some possible reasons are:
To learn about meditation: People may watch videos of someone meditating to learn more about meditation, its benefits, and how to practice it properly. By watching someone meditate, they can observe the techniques, posture, and breathing patterns, which can be helpful in their own meditation practice.
To experience relaxation: Watching someone meditate can be a relaxing and calming experience for some people. The peaceful and serene atmosphere created by the meditator can help the viewer to feel more relaxed and centered.
To feel connected: Meditation can be a solitary practice, and some people may watch videos of someone meditating to feel a sense of connection with others who are also practicing meditation. By watching someone else meditate, they can feel like they are part of a larger community.
To get motivated: Watching videos of someone meditating can be a source of inspiration and motivation for some people. Seeing someone else practice regularly and benefit from meditation can encourage viewers to start or continue their own meditation practice.
To improve their own practice: Watching videos of experienced meditators can be a way for people to improve their own meditation practice. By observing the techniques used by experienced meditators, viewers can learn new ways to deepen their practice and achieve greater levels of concentration and relaxation.
