*duh* at my previous post hehe

Anyway -> Maybe it's a cd problem? If so try to run that same version with scummvm and see if it will run on there if you haven't tried it. Otherwise, make an iso and mount it maybe? See if that changes things

To load the ScummVM core you should open RetroArch, go to Load Core and select scummvm-libretro.so. Then on the RetroArch main menu select Start Core, that should take you to the ScummVM screen where you can add games as you do on any other ScummVM platform.

You need to open RetroArch, then Load Core, select scummvm-libretro.so and then on the main menu of RetroArch, select Start Core. This should show the ScummVM interface and here you can add the games.

@nouty first ensure that your ScummVM is starting. Whether you downloaded the core in RetroArch, or followed @bitdweller his guide, the core is probably located in /home/cpi/.config/retroarch/cores. That is the default location for downloads, and also the place where @bitdweller explained to put it. The name should be scummvm_libretro.so, @bitdweller wrote scummvm-libretro.so, however the downloadable core and the compiled one will both be scummvm_libretro.so.

Global settings are listed under the [scummvm] heading. Global keymaps settings are listed under the [keymapper] heading. Game-specific settings, including keymaps, are listed under the heading for that game, for example [queen] for Flight of the Amazon Queen. Use the configuration keys to change settings.

If you don't have Linux or might not be comfortable with a command line, we went ahead and pre-compiled a few of the freeware games from scummvm.org into N64-compatible rom images. These were checksum corrected and tested on an Everdrive 64. However, they were not padded to specific sizes so they might not work with copiers like the Doctor V64.

The wiki.scummvm.org page for N64 already has information on saving progress in ScummVM, but that article was written before the Everdrive 64 existed and some details aren't quite as clear as they should be.

There are some hard limits with the N64 though. Most flash carts max out at 64MB for rom images, they can't run roms bigger than that. This means pretty much no talkie version of a game will work. In fact, with only .ogg and uncompressed pcm audio being supported, even getting CD soundtracks working is also a bit of a pickle, due to lack of space. That said, if using floppy versions, it's possible to fit multiple games into one scummvm-n64 rom image. However, in our testing of different games, we did notice the floppy version of Day of the Tentacle actually has some voice clips, so there's that at least.

Can you elaborate on this? copying the files to a folder (e.g. /storage/roms/scummvm/atlantis) and running the script (in setup) to create the atlantis.scummvm file does not seem difficult to me, but maybe I am missing something or assuming something else?

Is Gamefile.xml (inside the scummvm folder) the place I go to resolve these duplicate entries and any further ideas on why many game files display this error message but can be loaded from inside the SCUMMVM console??

The Good

This is one of my favourite adventure games, hands down. I enjoyed it immensely. The graphics were rather dated, even at the time I first played it, but they transmit the dark and, yes, steely ambience of this world. An innocent man crashes a helicopter into a hospital to save his own life. A sinister employer forbids the workers in a power plant to wear protective clothing, from nothing but pure malice. For all the technology in the city, either victimising or pampering its population, its deepest root is a nest of living veins and nerves. How could I not love it? There seems to be an underlying motif of chairs... throne-like VR chairs, used for medical treatment, or transmission of information, or torture.

For my scummVM box project, I'm now at the living books, educational games. I've had to create some back covers for the Crazy nick's software picks. all in all I'm making good progress. over 160 boxes are done.. and I'm currently wondering if, when I'm done, if I should take on the list of SVN game titles. I probably will.

I'm not going to make a box for each game version. So there will not be 8 different boxes for each version of Monkey Island. I'm assuming most people will just group them under a single title.

After scummvm I will do a small box collection for residualVM, I mean 3 or for boxes nothing, I will just have to modify my template .
