The web site of Belmont Against Racism has an extensive list with links to organizations that need your support.

But what can I do?

You can resist being overwhelmed by despair that you cannot do enough. You can resist comparing yourself to those who seem to be able to do so much more than you.

You can educate yourself. About the history of slavery and the racism that justified it. About white privilege. About unconscious bias. About the white power structure that has used race to keep poor black and white people from making common cause. You can be learning and helping even in quarantine in your own home. Even if you are an introvert.

Our library and its wonderful director, Peter Struzziero are here to help us.

Here is their offering, starting with the excellent Globe Spotlight series on race in Boston.

Here are brief citations and links to the Globe articles requested. Belmont patrons can access them by entering their card number when prompted after clicking on the link. If the person attempting to access the articles is not a Belmont patron they can find the link to the Globe database on their library's website and search each article title in the title field of an advanced search once they reach ProQuest. Scroll past this list for more options also.
