Taken at UIC in the Fall 2025 semester, this course provided ample opportunity to refine my skills in fact-gathering, verification, and the elimination of factual noise to bring human voices into institutional news. A key lesson was to attract readers’ attention foremost, stripping excess details to command tone, rhythm, and word choice.
