Business Meeting Minutes
Pres. Paul Bickford called the meeting to order with the Pledge of Allegiance
Secretary Donnie Roberts read the minutes of the March Business Meeting
Treasurer Ed Limehouse presented the Treasurer Report. Still in good standing for now. Covid has all but stopped fund raising, so more money going out than money coming in. Still looking for additional fund raising ideas.
Conservation Committee Report : Jim Von Rohr has been in contact with Rick Echols of the BV Lakes Department about upcoming projects that the club could possibly offer monetary help on. Rick said they were thinking about stocking Channel Catfish in all the lakes and Hybrid Stripers in Loch Lomond and Lake Windsor. This is fairly expensive and Jim mention to him about putting off this year's donation until next year and combining 2021 & 2022's donation and apply it to an additional dock on the dam at Windsor. This is where the Kids Fishing takes place during the school year and the additional dock would be greatly appreciated. (Kids Fishing has been cancelled because of covid, hope to be able to start again next year!) Board passed a motion to allocate funds for this purpose and was voted on by attending members and passed.
Scholarship Committee Report : Jack Wingate was not in attendance today but has already sent out letters looking for candidates. During discussion it was met with opposition from 7 or so members who were not in favor of continuing the scholarship program. One main reason was that it usually does not do anything for our community. Motion was brought up and 2nded and the members attending passed to provide $1,500 if a candidate could be found, It was opposed by 7 members.
FTC Survivorship Benefit Committee : Tom Diepenbrock will be the chairman of this committee. As needed Tom will ask for volunteers to help survivors with around the house jobs, such as yard work, delivering meals, selling of any fishing gear, or what ever maybe needed. This maybe added to the club's By-Laws as to not be overlooked by future officers.
Looking into starting Club Activities that have been postponed because of the pandemic. Hopefully as vaccines become common and life tries to return to normal we are looking at hold picnics, fishing derbies, social fishing and whatever else comes up. Mike Mullinex will be setting up our first fishing derby for sometime in May. Stay tuned for more information as it becomes available. Thanks Mike. Ron Blackwelder is getting info for our fall picnic to be held at Simple Pleasures here in Bella Vista. Thanks Ron.
