Being a Christian Buddhist

These rules are the Christian portion of my personal philosophy. They are interwoven (maybe entangled is a better term) into the four Buddhist principles that follow. I don't believe that Christ is the son of god because I cannot accept the idea of supernatural events. But I believe that Christ is divine. I believe, that is, that in him humanity is so lofty, strict and ideal as to exceed the common terms of humanity.

Much of Jesus’ teaching was brought together in the sermon on the mount, when, seated on a hillside he taught that true happiness comes from having the right attitudes to others. These attitudes are to be humble, gentle, devoted to goodness, merciful, single-minded in humanity's service, and dedicated to promoting peace.
