I'm an environmental scientist who studies landscape change and erosional processes in Vermont and Puerto Rico. I'm passionate about environmental justice and equity. I love all things outdoors (except spiders), especially looking at rocks and hiking with my goofy dog Duncan Idaho (above). This is my third summer working as faculty at GIV ESAT and I am thrilled to be part of the program with you all!
I'm originally from Martha's Vineyard, MA. The best part about MV is that it was largely formed during the last glacial maximum by the Laurentide Ice Sheet, and marks the ice sheet's farthest southern extent.
For my undergraduate degree, I attended Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY, where I majored in environmental studies and minored in geosciences. I also studied abroad in London, Iceland, and New Zealand during college!
After college I worked in London leading a semester study abroad program and volunteering as a geology lab tech at the Imperial College Royal School of Mines before beginning a job at MIT in a geology lab.
Below you can see my triangle from my first year with GIV online - this year I'll be bringing a paper one to the institute
