The second mobility with students happened in Cristelo, at the Coordinator School, from the 14th to the 18th of October 2024.
The group from Didim arrived on Saturday and from Keşan on Sunday. Students were very excited to meet their colleagues!
The week-long Erasmus+ LTT event in Cristelo successfully combined educational workshops, cultural exchanges, and team-building activities. Focusing on themes like climate change, art, marine conservation, and food, the programme promoted intercultural learning, teamwork, and environmental awareness. Through hands-on activities and interactive sessions, students and teachers engaged deeply with key global challenges while sharing and celebrating their cultural identities
On Monday the 14th October the teams were welcomed at Cristelo School.
After the arrival of all the participants in the afternoon, the Coordinator Célia Barbosa Welcomed everybody and introduced the LTT Programme for the week. After that, participants engaged in a “speed meeting” activity, where each student was paired with a peer from another country. This interactive session encouraged quick exchanges, promoting mutual understanding, where one student introduced another in creative ways. It fostered collaboration and a sense of community.
Once the students were introduced, it was time to start working, them tasks were distributed by 4 groups. Each group had to analyze a press article and complete the assigned tasks. A break followed, allowing further informal interaction.
on Tuesday, 15th “Casa da Imagem” a Portuguese institution focused on using art and design to tackle climate change was invited to teach students a different approach to Climate Change, Students and teachers worked in pairs, blending creativity with education using photos, sounds and videos, using “Improvisa” app . The session included discussions about how art can be a medium for environmental awareness, engaging participants in hands-on activities to visualize and express climate-related concerns. The aim was to connect environmental education with creative arts, making the topic more engaging for young learners.
Wednesday, was the “International Food Day”, 16th October, and teams decided to Exchange Culture through Food
The Turkish team prepared traditional meals for the group, including specialties like pide (a Turkish flatbread) and menemen (scrambled eggs with tomatoes), while the Portuguese team brought “Pão de Ló” a traditional sponge cake. This event was not just a culinary experience but also a deeper dive into the culture and traditions, providing a platform for students and teachers to share their customs in an informal setting.
The 17th of October was Workshop Day, the group traveled to CIIMAR (Interdisciplinary Centre of Marine and Environmental Research) in Porto to attend 2 different workshops.
The workshops focused on marine ecosystems, particularly ocean acidification and microplastics. The participants learned about the impact of human activities on marine life through practical demonstrations such as how ocean acidification happens and what microplastics do to marine organisms, specifically mussels.
By the end of the workshops lunch was enjoyed by the ocean, after that the teams departed to Palácio de Cristal where the group explored the iconic gardens, offering a moment of relaxation and sightseeing.
In the evening, parents organized a farewell party for Teachers and Students. The farewell party at school marked the emotional end of the week, where families and participants celebrated the friendships and connections made.
Friday, 18th of October was the last day. The students and teachers worked together to finalize the Activity Padlet, where all the week’s highlights were published. Participants filled out an evaluation form and shared reflections on the programme’s success, improvements, and personal takeaways.
The session concluded with a formal certificate ceremony, recognizing participants' efforts and involvement in the program.
The Turkish teams then prepared for their departure!
