David has been teaching Math, Physics, and Chemistry at the middle school, high school, and university level for over 20 years. His passion for Math was evident at an early age when he won the American High School Mathematics Examination, as a junior in High School. After high school, he picked up a book on Physics by Isaac Asimov and was immediately hooked. He decided to get a degree in Physics and then figured, "Why not do two in twice the time?" and ended up with two Master's degrees, one in Physics and one in Math. Throughout all this time he continued teaching and tutoring those subjects, plus Chemistry as well. He even throws in the occasional chess lesson, as he is ranked slightly under "Expert" in chess by the United States Chess Federation. In the last few years, his interests have turned to financial mathematics and he has passed the first two Actuarial exams with scores of 10/10 and 9/10.
David is never happy with what he knows but is continually looking to expand his knowledge, not only for his own edification but also to help his students learn. A deeper understanding of advanced topics sometimes sheds light on nuances of easier subjects and makes the learning process for his students easier. At the end of the day, your understanding is his number one goal.
David is proficient in pretty much every area of Mathematics at the high school and University level and even some graduate level courses. His expertise includes Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, PreCalculus, Calculus, Differential Equations, Linear Algebra, Abstract Algebra, Discrete Mathematics, Graph Theory, Combinatorics, Probability, Statistics, Complex Analysis, Actuarial Mathematics, Logic, Number Theory, Topology, Measure Theory, Mechanics, Electromagnetism, Quantum Physics, Relativity, and Thermodynamics.
