Long-Term Ecological
Observatories (LTEO): Grasslands
Observatories (LTEO): Grasslands
Long Term Ecological Observatories-Grasslands is part of a multi-institutional, multi-disciplinary collaborative effort to monitor a range of themes and taxa across the Indian subcontinent (lteo.iisc.ac.in/). National Centre for Biological Sciences is the nodal institute for the grasslands theme being coordinated by the BEER lab (lteo.iisc.ac.in/research/grasslands/). The grassland theme aims to characterize taxonomic and functional diversity of different grassy ecosystems across the biogeographic zones of India and monitor changes in community diversity and productivity over time in response to changes in climate.

Ongoing Projects
We are exploring how richness and diversity of grasses and forges in India change across broad climatic gradients of rainfall, temperature and soil nutrient
We are exploring how functional traits of grasses vary across rainfall, temperature and soil nutrient gradiensts
