BeeBRT, the lightest, intelligent flashlight with longest lasting operation.
There are five levels of brightness. The lowest is about 1.5 lumens. The brightest is about 100 lumens.
The heart is a small micro-controller that helps set the time-out periods and brightness. A second controller is in charge of the charging process. The LED itself is the same type of those used in streetlights, yet controlled to be dim as possible.
Prototypes of night-time red and infra-red LED versions have been developed and tested with great success. These will be commercially available soon. These versions are great for hunters and others that like to operate in the dark.
Special versions could be made in other colors in the future as demands come in. Other color options can be basic red, yellow, green, blue, purple, etc.
There are five brightness levels with individual time-out periods. Each level is considered a cycle of operation. The basis of this is that there are over 100 cycles available for a typical light. The timeout values frorm dimmest to brightest is: 60 minutes, 30 minutes, 5 minutes, 2 minutes, and 30 seconds.
The button can be used to turn off BeeBRT at any intensity by holding it down until it flashes and then release. If held beyond the flash, one can hold the button up to 30 seconds. This would provide up to 2.5 minutes of operation before BeeBRT turns off.Â
If the button is held beyond 30 seconds, it turns itself off. This later operation was to ensure that it could handle an accidental push and hold of the button.
