Be Clean, Be Green! Promoting the Sustainable Development of Our Community
7th -11th March 2022
Between 7 th - 11th March 2022, Agrupamento de Escolas de Rio Tinto Nº 3 organized a Learning, Teaching, Training Activity for the Erasmus + project “Be Clean, Be Green! Promoting the Sustainable Development of Our Community”.
This mobility experience has been organised within the framework of an Erasmus + Key Action 2 project and it was a short-term exchange of a group of pupils.
The aims of the mobility were:
to develop the pupils’ competences regarding ecological education;
to overcome the language barriers by improving the participants’ English language competence;
to develop the pupils’ ICT skills;
to increase the participants’ knowledge of environmental protection;
to stimulate the pupils’ critical thinking and teamwork.
The pupils developed different skills such as:
pupils’ personal development as active European citizens (intercultural competence) by increasing their self-esteem, developing the civic responsibility and the teamwork efficiency;
knowing the importance of preserving rivers and watercourses in the promotion and protection of Biodiversity;
exploring some of the characteristics of biodiversity and the dynamics existing in ecosystems, namely that of Parque das Serras do Porto;
understanding the importance of pollinating insects in maintaining biodiversity
investigating environmental and social problems, anchored in geographically relevant issues (what, where, how, why and for what);
applying geographical knowledge, spatial thinking and territorial study methodologies, in a creative way, in teamwork, to argue, communicate and intervene in real problems, at different scales;
developing a harmonious relationship with the natural and social environment, assuming their behaviour in a context of individual and collective well-being.
