If you are interested in conducting research with Dr. Beckwith, please fill out the form at the link below.
Students in the Beckwith Lab are involved in all steps of the research process, from reading the literature and developing new ideas, designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, to presenting their research, writing, and publishing.
Our team values curiosity, commitment, and camaraderie. Science is accomplished by people, and the more voices and ideas that are part of the scientific endeavor, the better science we can do. A curious mind can uncover the answer to a question no one thought to ask before. In the research lab, you go from learning about science to doing science. We create new knowledge about the world when we ask questions and collect data. Doing science is hard work and is best done in the context of a supportive team in which each individual develops the skills and confidence to carry out their project and support their labmates.
This means committing to show up and spend time on your research project, responsibly and safely performing experiments and collecting data, and bringing a positive attitude and intellectual curiosity to the lab. Students will regularly meet with Dr. Beckwith, share their ongoing work with the lab, and participate as a courteous member of the lab.
Dr. Beckwith’s mentees have gone on to diverse futures, including graduate school, medical school, dental school, and the allied health fields.
