I initiated my painting career at 15 years old as an apprentice painter for a local general contractor in Napa Valley. Before leaving to work in other areas of painting & decorating, i advanced to a journeyman painter, leading a small team in restoring historic homes and buildings. I gained all my experience hands-on collaborating and working for various contractors, interior designers, decorators, and faux finishers / muralist.
In 1998 I founded Becerra Paint & Design, specializing in custom woodwork, faux finishing and murals working in Marin County, California. Following a year at a decorative painting school in Las Vegas, Nevada, I passed the CSLB C-33 contractor exam in 2001, becoming a licensed painting and decorating contractor. As a contractor, I have undertaken a wide array of projects in California, including custom homes, high-end repaints, luxury retail, design-build, project consulting, management, and creating faux finishes and murals.
