Meet the Library Ladies

Mrs. Kim Hockaday - Library Media Specialist

Mrs. Hockaday has been an educator in Prince George County for 41 years. She is an alumni of Longwood College (undergraduate) and Longwood University (masters). Connecting a child with a book that is going to inspire them to read more or to pursue a dream is her mission.

Family time with her husband, dog (Jake), and cat (Sarah) is precious to her. She loves reading historical novels and biographies, antiquing, gardening, and volunteering on stage or backstage at the Lee Playhouse at Ft. Lee.

Contact Mrs. Hockaday at: khockaday@pgs.k12.va.us

Email me if you have questions , just want to let me know what you are reading, or have suggestions for books for us to add to the library.

DID YOU KNOW?

Look up the fact/s of the day online, using the Encyclopedia Britannica site Britannica School or old school in an encyclopedia if you have a set at home. Learn something!

Do some math! Figure out how long ago the event happened or how old the person is. Find out why the person is important. Locate where the event happened on a map.

For fun make a timeline of the events and people you learn about. Decorate your timeline.
