Accelerated Reader

Prince George County Schools use the Accelerated Reader program as part of the language arts program. Each child will take a STAR Reading test that will indicate the child's reading level as well as zone and will enable the classroom teacher to assign the child reading points that they will need to achieve each nine weeks. Your child is responsible for reading within their ZPD (reading zone) and accumulating the points their teacher has assigned to them each nine weeks. They accomplish this by reading and testing on books in their level. They may read books from the Beazley Library, classroom library, public library, and personal books.
