With the help of our parent volunteers, Bear Creek has an abundant garden that the students help plant in the spring, maintain through summer, and harvest in the fall. Students get hands on learning in the garden, they explore the life cycle of plants, their natural enemies, and the laws of nature. They learn about healthy eating and environmental stewardship. The fall season culminates with each class preparing a different recipe prepped with vegetables from the garden, and the whole school enjoys stone soup made from the garden harvest.
The Garden Committee is made up of parent volunteers and one of many committees that parents can get involved with at Bear Creek.
