Visiting

Welcome to Bear Canyon! To make your visit more enjoyable and to help preserve the area for others there are a few things you can do to help.

Please stay on the trail. It can be rough in places but we try to keep it open and clear as much as possible. Much of the trail is in a riparian zone and is a sensitive habitat for many endangered species. Areas along stream beds are especially sensitive, so please step carefully when crossing the stream and do not walk up the banks even when dry.

Please pack out what you bring. There is no trash collection at the campground.

Keep your dog on a leash at all times. Off-leash pets harm local wildlife.

Do not try to maintain this or other trails without permission from the Forest Service. Please consult with us about possible projects for your group. Our job is a lot easier when we don't have to fix problems created by "rogue" trail builders.
