As I have been teaching foreign students since more than 10 years, I discovered, that the biggest problem of them is the absence of the time to catch up the enormous material in a very short time. It's not enough to know deeply the basic sciences, the chemistry or the physics.
In my opinion, the best way to catch up, is to study in advance the material of the first year, exactly in the same way, that the university asks. As I have experience with the Hungarian universities, I can show the way they ask. No question, that the biggest material is the anatomy. It is composed of histology, embryology, and the macroscopic part as well.
In the pre-med program, -which is a private tutoring- we watch many useful videos and I share my self-made figures, which help the students to improve their knowledge of anatomy. So in the first year, the anatomy won't be so much, the students will have more time for the other subjects and it will be easier to catch up.
I also teach my students how to study, and I can share with them loads of useful study skills and tips. We also practice the oral exams which are really popular in Hungary. I think that's the most important knowledge I can give to my students. I have met some students who even didn't know hot to make a note. I don't laugh at anybody. We start with the basics if it's necessary. If someone needs more help, it can get more lessons. If somebody work better, it can have fewer lessons. The program is totally customised.
It's also a useful advice to study and write out the topic list in advance of the physics and medical chemistry. So when you are at the classes, it is easier to concentrate on the facts what the professors say.
Usually, the price of the pre-medical programs are enormous, and in the most of the time, the student has to live in that country where it wants to study the medicine, which makes more higher the price of studying. As I teach by Skype as well, nobody has to move to another country before the medical studies. Nobody has to pay thousands of euros in advance for a pre-med program which is unknown. If you don't like the way I teach, you don't buy more lessons. That's all.
