The University Championship committee have generously been invited to send a team of the best UK student disc golfers to compete in division 1 college disc golf nationals in 2024:
Spots will be awarded based on BDGA University Championship 2023 OVERALL placing across student divisions
Entry fees have been generously waived by College Disc Golf to provide the best opportunity those invited to make the trip
4 mixed division spots (+2 substitutes) are available
2 female spots are available (to compete as a team of two or individually)
The only additional criteria to be eligible for College Disc Golf on top of the student criteria for this tournament is that you must be a valid student for the period of College Disc Golf's own season (i.e. 22/23 students are not eligible).
College Disc Golf Nationals is a PDGA major and the biggest stage available for student disc sports athletes!
Normally hosted in April at North Cove Social Club in Marion, North Carolina (also host to a DGPT tour stop), this event has been taken down by big names like Robert Burridge.
The true depth of UK talent is a complete unknown still, the only way to miss out on a chance to play this event is to not compete for a spot!
A brief statement from John Baker, Director of College Disc Golf:
"We're very impressed with the success you had last year and love the direction you're headed. The consideration for the strength of your programs and offering individual based competition is a great strategy. We see great potential for teams from the UK in the future at our competitions. We would love to support your efforts and develop to the point where we have teams from the UK and all of Europe. We want to help get the first "Team Europe" here to compete in College Disc Golf this year."
