In July of 1974 as Buhangin Barangay High School the increasing population of the school had driven the Barangay Captain, Luzmin Salvador, and the School Head Teacher, Mrs. Maria Stella Ceballos to work for a new site. In 1990, it was successfully materialized through the kind-hearted heirs of Atty. Bernardo D. Carpio donated a land area of approximately 17,366 sq. meters.
On May 04, 1994, Republic Act No. 7705, or An Act, changed the name of Buhangin Barangay High School to Bernardo Carpio Barangay High School and subsequently to Bernardo D. Carpio National High School.
Currently, the school pioneers Science and Technology Engineering (STE) for grade 7, strengthening the Special Program in the Arts (SPA) with the following disciplines: Creative Writing, Dance (Modern and Cultural), Music (Vocals and Instrumental), Media Arts, Visual Arts, and Theater Arts for Junior High School.
It offers also Accountancy Business & Management (ABM), Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics (STEM), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMMS), and Technical Vocational & Livelihood (TVL) with the following strands:
A. Industrial Arts (IA) Strand
Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NCII
Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) NCII
B. Information, Communication and Technology Strand (ICT) Strand
Computer Systems Servicing (CSS) NCII
C. Home Economics (HE) Strand
FOOD BUNDLE: Food and Beverage Services (FBS) NCII, Cookery NCII, Bread and Pastry Production (BPP) NCII
HOTEL BUNDLE: Housekeeping NCII, Front Office Services NCII and Bartending NCII in Senior High School.
Both JHS and SHS fully embraced the K – 12 curricula and sustained through MATATAG Agenda.
