George Kapetanios is Professor of Finance and Econometrics and Head of the Department of Banking & Finance at King’s Business School, which he joined in 2015. He holds an MSc from LSE and a PhD from Cambridge. Previously, he worked at the National Institute of Economic and Social Research, the Bank of England, and Queen Mary University of London, where he was Head of Economics and Finance (2007–2014). His research focuses on structural change, large data analysis, and applications in finance and macroeconomics. He has over 150 publications in leading scientific journals and edited volumes in the areas of econometrics, empirical finance and macroeconomics.
Steven Ongena is Professor of Banking in the Department of Finance at the University of Zurich, a senior chair at the Swiss Finance Institute, a research professor at KU Leuven, a research professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology NTNU Business School, and a research fellow in financial economics of CEPR. He is also a research professor at the Deutsche Bundesbank, a regular research visitor at the European Central Bank and Norges Bank, a fellow of CFS, and the chair of the Research Advisory Council of SAFE. He is currently a co-editor of Economic Inquiry, the International Journal of Central Banking, the International Review of Finance and the Journal of Financial Services Research.
