BCSER: From Lab to Math Classroom: Utilizing eye gaze and cognitive control tasks to examine the effects of perceptual cues and structure on mathematical performance is a research project funded by the ECR's Building Capacity in STEM Education Research (ECR: BCSER) program. This project aims to implement two online experimental studies that use webcam-based eye-tracking (i.e., WebGazer) and open-source cognitive control assessments (ACE-X) to examine the cognitive mechanisms by which perceptual cues support math performance and learning.
We will work with college students and high school students during SY 2024-2025 and SY 2025-2026! This website provides information for you about the research study, the evidence-backed technologies used, and the benefits for your teachers and students.
