What's your level of badminton?

Novice 🐣

Never really played.

Perhaps a few games in the garden or on the beach.

Not sure of the rules.

Beginner 🐥

Knows the rules.

Can rally if the shuttle is played to them.

Limited service options.

Often plays the shuttle high to mid court so can easily be returned.

Aim is to get the shuttle back over the net rather than playing the shuttle to make it difficult for an opponent.

High Beginner 🐥🐥

Knows the rules and can explain them to others.

Moving to play shots to keep a rally going.

Starting to develop positioning.

Starting to return the shuttle away from opponents to make it difficult to return.

Consistent serves that will not be easily returned.

(D)Intermediate 🐥🐥🐥

Knows the rules.

Plays with some tactics to develop the rally to their advantage.

Can serve short and long to avoid smash returns.

Can hit shots with forehand to all parts of the court.

Can use backhand in some situations.

Can hit drop shots.

(C)High Intermediate. 🐥🐥🐥🐥

Knows the rules.

Can play tactically and in doubles can play effectively with a partner to ensure court is properly covered.

Good positioning to make it hard for the opponent to find space.

Can serve short and long and disguise the serve.

Is strong on forehand and backhand with the ability to clear and drop. Can disguise this on the forehand side.

Strong tactical skills and can attack to make it difficult for the opponent to return.

(B)Advanced 🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥

Strong in all areas of the game.

Excellent positioning.

Has a multitude of serve options.

Can attack and defend strong attack shots.

Can put the shuttle in all parts of the court using forehand and backhand.

Can disguise shots so that a clear and drop can almost look the same.

Welcome but I think you should consider joining a more organised club.

Would be great if you could do some training sessions though.
