Exam-Level Students Registering for College Board Accounts and "Joining" the AP Class
Exam-Level Students Registering for College Board Accounts and "Joining" the AP Class
The College Board has no records of you until you create an account with them. You will need to visit myap.collegeboard.org to create your account. Make sure to NOT use your school email when you create the account, since you need to be able to access it after you graduate.
Ensure you are using a password you know from memory, as you will not be able to access a device to look at your password on the day of your digital exam. You will be ejected from the exam room if you can not sign in from memory.
When finished creating your account, you need to use the join code you got from your teacher to be added to their class. You must do this step as well.
If you need help, first watch this video where I explain the process, and then email me at bryan.clintberg@ecsd.net if you still have questions.

AP Marks and Transcripts
You will be able to see your AP exam marks in early July by signing into your College Board account.
All students have until June 20 to sign in to their College Board account to designate which post-secondary institution they want their free AP mark transcript sent to. Visit cb.org/apfreescoresend to do this. After June 20 you will need to pay a fee to have it sent. Even if you are not planning to take credit you earn, you should still have it sent, as your ability to get grant and scholarship money may depend on it. You can inform the post-secondary institution if you wish to wave the 100-level course credits. See Mr. C for more details.
If you have been conditionally accepted somewhere, they may be asking you for an AP transcript. Don't worry, they know that the transcripts are not sent out until July.
AP Daily Practice Sessions
Students can take advantage of AP Daily: Practice Sessions, which can be accessed in AP Classroom and on YouTube, to help them prepare for their AP Exams.
Joining Your AP Classroom
All AP students in exam-level courses (see here for a list) are required to register for their AP Classroom (not the same as a Google Classroom). Once your teacher has given you the access code, you can sign up. If you are having difficulties, check with your teacher or Mr. Clintberg in Room 110. You can also look at a handout of instructions by clicking here.
Please note that if this is the first registration you are doing with the College Board, you will need to create an account with them. Be certain to save your password to access your account later!
At some point before June 2024 you will need to go into your profile and select the post-secondary institution that you wish to send your transcript to. The College Board will send one free one for you, after that you have to pay a fee.
Grade 12 students often ask about their AP transcripts. If you have been accepted at a university, they may send an email to you that says something like "You have indicated you are an AP student; please forward a copy of your AP Transcript."
This is a standard email. They know that the AP exams don't happen until May, and that unless you wrote an AP exam in Grade 11 you actually don't have an AP transcript yet.
What they are asking is for you to make sure that you have signed into your College Board account and selected their university as the place the College Board will send your transcript once it is available. You will find instructions from the College Board by clicking here.
All students get one copy of their transcript sent to the university of their choice. If you do need extra copies sent there is a fee.
Special Note: If you wrote an AP exam in Grade 11, but you are NOT writing any in Grade 12, you may need to request a new transcript to be sent to your university. This is because the College Board would have sent one last year, but most universities will only keep that on record for a maximum of one year.
