Priyanka Rauniyar

Career Path : Biotech AAS degree, BCCC (2014). B.S. in Biochemistry, UMBC (2017). Research Specialist, Johns Hopkins University (Jan 2018-Now)

Internship: University of Maryland, School of Pharmacy

Perspective:  "I think BCCC was a milestone for a bigger success today. It might be a community college but it provides stepping stones and great opportunities for student's future" 

Louison Kougang

Career Path: Biotech AAS degree, BCCC (2014)  Working as Development Technician in Pathsensors Inc. (2014-Now). Pursuing Bachelors Degree in Biology at UMBC.

Internship : Biodefense Company Pathsensors Inc.

Perspective:  "The Biotech program helped me in the creation and optimization of a new set of skills. These skills and training that I received from the program and the professors, gave me opportunity to thrive professionally."

Career Path: Biotech AAS degree, BCCC (2015). B.S. Medical Research Technology, University of Maryland (2017)             Employed as Medical Lab Scientist in Johns Hopkins Immunology Lab (2017-Now)

Emmanuella Oyogoa

Career Path: Biotech AAS degree, BCCC (2015). B.S. Biology, Notre Dame University (2017), University of West Virginia, Medical School (Started in 2018)

Internship : University of Maryland, School of Medicine and Johns Hopkins University

Perspective:  "The Biotech program gave me foundation knowledge in Biomedical Sciences. It provided me with information and internships that helped solidify my decision to forge a career in medicine. In the Biotech program, I met a lifelong mentor Dr. Madabushi, who has been there to guide my educational choices in every step of the way."

Career Path: Biotech AAS degree (2017). Lab Assistant at Bio instrumentation Company Congruence Medical Solutions (2018-19), Research Asst. University of Maryland (2019-Now

Perspective:  "Biotech Program has opened the doors to me in the Science field and has enabled me to accomplish so much. I have acquired the skills that have enabled me to be employed right away as lab technician and has set foundation for me in my career as a researcher."

Perspective:  "Biotechnology is what I consider as the perfect common denominator to most biological sciences. Having the opportunity to study that at BCCC, helped me shaped my ideal career path. The program provides perfect foundation and opportunity to its students. The program makes learning easy and enjoyable and I couldn't recommend it more. It propelled me into neuroscience research which I never knew would be an interest of mine."

Internship : UMBC, Biofuel Engineering (2017)

Perspective:  "The Biotech program went beyond what I expected it would do for me when I first enrolled. I had no idea, I would have the opportunity to complete multiple internships and build up my resume this quickly just from a community college degree. I've presented my own scientific research that I completed at internship sites, as well as research done at our own Biotech lab at school. I would not change a thing about the community of people that I have met and the opportunities I've been given at BCCC. Even though I am graduating, I know, I have a network of advisors to come back to if I ever need anything."
