What is YPC

The Young Professionals Committee (YPC) is a group of early- and mid-career professionals who support Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City through social events, fundraising, and community-building.

It’s a way to meet people, give back, and be part of something meaningful - without needing a long-term volunteer commitment.

Who it’s for

YPC is a great fit if you:

• Want to meet new people in NYC in a low-pressure way

• Are looking for ways to give back but don’t know where to start

• Enjoy social events with a purpose

• Want to support mentorship with or without becoming a full-time volunteer

What you actually do

As a member of YPC, you can:

• Attend happy hours, fundraisers, and community events

• Help plan or support events (optional)

• Contribute to fundraising efforts

• Connect others to Big Brothers Big Sisters of NYC

You can be as involved as you want - some people just come to events, others take on leadership roles.

Time commitment

There’s no required time commitment.

• Attend events when it works for you

• Monthly meetings are optional (for those who want to be more involved)

• Additional opportunities available if you want to take on more responsibility
