Prison Ministry

We do have several groups of men in the Church parish who visit the inmates in the local prison in Napoleonville on a rotating bases almost every Tuesday evening from 6:00-7:00 PM to share the Sunday readings with them.

Several of the men in the ministry have expressed how much it has meant to them. I know it has been something truly meaningful for the inmates as well. The last time I joined them, one of the inmates said “You guys give us hope every time you come.” I can’t think of a better compliment than that. There is no better feeling than knowing you are truly making a difference in someone’s life. Jesus Himself said in Matthew chapter 25 that when you visit those in prison you visit Him as well.

Please note that joining the ministry does not mean you will be doing it by yourself. We will make sure to pair you with someone who has been going for several years now just to see what it is all about. And you certainly don't need to be an expert in the Bible nor even say anything while you are there! Just your presence to the inmates says enough!
