This MOC was created in memory of my son, Mitchell, who passed away last year. A year later I still mourn his loss, but my hope is that everyone will remember Mitchell for the life he lived.

1201 Third Avenue (formerly Washington Mutual Tower) is a 55-story skyscraper in Seattle, Washington. This building is Simone and Adam's favorite building in Seattle. When we moved to the Bay area, we knew we wanted to build a little piece of Seattle to remind us of home.

This MOC covers a 48x48 baseplate and is 4.5 feet tall. We estimate that the MOC contains between 10,000 and 20,000 pieces. Simone took the lead in designing this MOC.

It is always a good time to have a parade to celebrate and support the LGBTQA+ community. As a proud ally it was important to show my support and celebrate diversity In the world. Two of my favorite people are leading the parade with their dog.

My dad died last year, and The Waltons was his favorite TV show, so I decided to make their house. I found pictures of the set design and blueprints online and watched several episodes to get details. I especially loved designing the antique pieces such as the oven, water heater, meat grinder, butter churn, sewing machine, dress form, radio, and ironing board that plugged into the ceiling! Also it was fun to create the family out of minifigure parts. The family photo includes: back row, L-R: Grandma, Grandpa, Mama (Olivia), Daddy (John); front row, L-R: John Boy, Jason, Mary Ellen, Erin, Ben, Jim-Bob, Elizabeth. (those are the kids from oldest to youngest)

When I took apart the Waltons' house I wasn't ready to let go of them yet, and I was really into minifig habitats so I built little habitats for the family. Daddy and Grandpa (with updated hair since the family photo) are in the lumber mill that they run out of their barn. Jason is playing music at the Dew Drop Inn. John Boy is upstairs writing in his bedroom. Grandma is sewing. Elizabeth and Jim-Bob are playing on the porch swing. Mama and Erin are working in the kitchen. Mary Ellen and Ben are out in the yard playing catch.

I had broken down the Chartres Cathedral build from the year prior and so had a lot of sorted grey bricks. I have always loved LEGO castles, almost as much as LEGO Space, so I decided to do a large castle build. This one took roughly six weeks to build. Bricks by the Bay 2020 ended up being a virtual only event over Zoom, and so I showed it during the virtual convention. Thanks to everyone who Zoomed in for the virtual tour.

Harry Potter has made a wrong turn in the Floo Network and ended up in a creepy shop called Borgin and Burkes in Knockturn Alley. He has to hide in a cabinet when his nemesis Draco Malfoy enters the shop with his father. This MOC was made using only the description in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets as a guide.
