Bawdsey Weather Station

A weather station was installed within the grounds of Bawdsey Manor in July 2023 by Suffolk Coastal CIC , providing a live weather feed to the Deben Marine Centre down at Bawdsey Quay.

There were multiple issues with the original location, not least that it was sheltered to weather from the south and east, and the rain gauge was out of action for most of 2024. But the weather station was moved to the Deben Marine Centre building at Bawdsey Quay on 1 Feb 2025, and has been fully functional since then. It is now in a position that is relatively sheltered from northerly weather, but as can be seen in the plot to the right, it is capturing a more complete range of weather than before.
