The official lineup for a parade is two hours before it begins. For a parade starting at 6 pm, please arrive no later than 5:30 pm.
Please be aware that as the start time approaches, finding a parking spot may become increasingly challenging. We advise giving yourself 30 minutes extra to find a suitable parking spot. We recommend arriving at the lineup early to avoid delays if you tend to be late.
If you get asked to carry the banner, please keep us in your peripherals to notice stops/starts. We lead, not you.
Sometimes we have a bathroom, sometimes we don't. Some parade routes have bathrooms along the route; sometimes, they do not. We will hopefully have the trailer for all bathroom emergencies but do not poop in it, or you will be responsible for cleaning it out!!!
Try to window between rows and not stand on the end of rows to avoid being hit by umbrellas.
When it's time to pick up umbrellas, grab as many as possible. It does not matter if you grab the same dancer's umbrella every time. Just get them quickly. The same goes when passing them out.
He drives a white truck and will be hauling our teal trailer.
Look for this when looking for us!
Look for Randa Lopez Morgan or Katie Carpenter. Please sign in with the QR Code. Before and during the parade, Randa or another DoughBoy in Charge will tell you where to stand and what you will do. The Doughboy in Charge will also relay any important information you need. It's a bit chaotic, but you will figure it out. Please ask any questions if you have them!
Katie Carpenter and Randa Morgan
Communication is key. If you can't make it, please let me know. This keeps me from worrying that something happened. If you aren't feeling well or have to back out, I will understand. Just let Randa know ahead of time.
You are there to keep the crowd safe AND keep our dancers safe.
While we don't mind some drinking, we ask that you please know your limits and don't consume too much. If you become too intoxicated, a ride will be called at your expense, and you will no longer be allowed to volunteer. First and foremost, you are representing BeignYAYS.
Space in the truck/trailer is limited. Please be prepared to bring only what you can physically carry.
Please do not smoke near the dancers or during the parade.
Please do not try to do our dances at the parades. Feel free to have fun and bop along, but leave the dancing to the BeignYAYs.
Nicely but firmly ask them to move aside. Don't be confrontational. We are all trying to have fun.
No. You are there to keep the crowd from being hit. Accidents happen, but we aim NEVER to hit anyone intentionally.
