Glasgow Middle School- 1676 Glasgow Ave
Our truck will be in the Glasgow Middle School parking lot around 5 PM.
Wristbands will be passed out in staging. You will need to sign a WAIVER in order to participate in this parade.
Other things of note about this parade:
It’s a family neighborhood parade; the streets aren't as wide as other parades.
No alcohol is allowed in the truck cab.
There is a “Royal Urination” stop on the route where we stop for 30 minutes, and there are port-o-potties (corner of Hyacinth and Stephens)
Remember, parking will be scarce, and I recommend allowing at least 30 minutes to find a spot and/or walk to staging.
Parking suggestions:
Any side street not on the parade route or along Glasgow where floats line up.
Sprouts parking lot and cutting through the Rouzan neighborhood.
Coordinate with someone to drop off/pick up at the parade finish in Juban’s parking lot.

This is our first time participating in Tucks, so we are unsure what to expect.

Other things of note about this parade:
People may try and throw beads, watch your head.
Although the roads may be barricaded in many places, we still need volunteers to assist with crowds as needed.
We will need people with rakes to sweep and move beads for the dancers.
Parking recommendations:
If parking near START:
Get off at Claiborne and take Broadway to Magazine, and then get on Tchoupitoulas. Get as close as you can to Napoleon St. (staging). Rouses on Tchoupitoulas could be an address to put in the GPS. Parade formation starts at 10 AM.
You will most likely want a Lyft back to your car.
If parking near END:
Katie found parking near the Convention Center here (you can reserve in advance for $53 a day)
Other notes: Iris parade starts at 11 AM and also utilizes most of the same route on St Charles (but has staging on Napoleon north of St Charles.

The packet states that alcoholic beverages are not allowed in the staging area or during the parade. You do you, but BE DISCREET!!
Please refrain from littering and avoid using school dumpsters.

It starts and ends in different locations. Be prepared to either walk at the end or the beginning.
Check-in and entry to the parade staging area are only allowed from the back or east side of Yellow Jacket Blvd. – at the intersection of Yellow Jacket Blvd. and Martin St. – DO NOT attempt to enter from Range Avenue.
Parking is available in the student parking lot on the north side of DSHS or behind the school. DO NOT park in the Field House parking lot (by the Football Field) at the back of the parade line-up, since this area is reserved for floats and other parade entries. Parking will not be allowed on any grass area if it has rained.
Restrooms will be located near the DSHS concession stand, situated between the band room, lunchroom, and the new building. We will NOT have access to the restrooms in the old gym.

Allow yourself plenty of time to arrive in NOLA and find parking. Be smart. Don't leave valuables in your car.
THIS IS NOLA. It’s going to be CRAZY and FUN. Be prepared for being tightly packed with the crowd.
We will only have a bike trailer that will mostly be full of speakers, so don't bring ice chests/bags.
Jess plans to bring a wagon, BUT please pack lightly (fanny packs and small water bottles).
Everyone, including volunteers, is invited to the Cork pre-party on Royal Street in front of the Court of two sisters. This takes place between 10ish and 12ish.
Then a lot of us will be moving to another pre-party at The Hyatt Centric French Quarter from around 12-2.
We must be in line no later than 2:30. The Parade rolls promptly at 3, and we are at the beginning of the parade this year!
After the parade, everyone, including volunteers, is invited to the after-party inside the Royal Sonesta. It’s an open bar, tons of food, and a band! You will need a wristband to get into the party, so if you plan to attend the after-party, stay close right after the parade to pick one up. Unfortunately, we can’t let anyone else into the after-party besides dancers and volunteers.
Please arrive by 6:00 p.m.
It starts and ends on St Phillip St., so park around that area (near Brickyard or Beauregard Town neighborhood). Allow yourself sufficient time to park and be cautious when selecting a parking spot. Past time will tow, and you probably won't be able to park in George’s lot. I recommend trying under the interstate near Brickyard or on a street near the lineup.

You can arrive at staging between 1:00 and 2:30. This parade doesn’t end where it starts, so consider coordinating with another BeignYAY or a volunteer to drop off a car at the BRCC parking lot (the end) and have one drive to staging. Park along North Blvd close to the Interstate.
