The Cryo-EPS facility
in 2020, the EPSRC kindly funded the creation of a new facility for looking at performing cryogenic analytical imaging by combining atom probe tomography and transmission electron microscopy. The facility mimics the Laplace infrastructure, but takes it to the next level, with the link to the TEM and other possible infrastructure (SIMS, XPS etc.)
The LEAP 5000 XR has been commissioned and the TFS Hydra as well, and the rest of the facility is being put together.
This was reported by Imperial's Department of Materials news with some more details.
Several papers have come out using the infrastructure that I contributed to establish – even if most of the work is to be credited to Finn Giuliani, Shelly Conroy and James Douglas, with some examples in the field of battery materials primarily:
