Here are some comments from previous Gies students:
- "I did get all classes I wanted and originally listed on the registration sheet. Although I had to finalize my schedule by the end of first week, there was no problem switching to the classes I wanted and the process was easy and quick. My favorite class was Brand Management. Majoring in accounting and finance, I did not have much experience in different kinds of BADM classes since my class schedule was usually filled with only ACCY and FIN classes. In Brand Management, I got to do a case study on certain brands and tried to resolve problems using the technique we learned from the class, including picking a real location for the brand in the city which was the most interesting part. I learned a lot and truly enjoyed this class. I would also recommend Modern British Society. I learned a lot about the current British social issues and how they have evolved, adding up to my understanding of the British culture. The grading system was very different since most classes there only count final projects and/or final exams for grades. There was no homework except for a big project for the whole semester, so the workload was relatively lighter compared to COB at U of I."
- “My favorite class is innovation entrepreneurship because the professor is really passionate and the class content is very flexible.”
- “My favorite class was Modern British Society with Malcolm Skene. It was a class of 20 exchange students so it was a great opportunity to get to know my peers while learning the different quirks of the host country.”
