What's the difference between Solo and Family Mode?
Solo Mode keeps everything private on your device only, no account needed. Family Mode creates an account and shares your recipes, grocery list, and meal schedule live with up to 4 people you invite.
Where is my data stored?
In Solo Mode, entirely on your device. In Family Mode, on our backend (Supabase), visible only to your family group.
Will I lose my recipes if I delete the app?
In Solo Mode, yes — everything is local with no backup. In Family Mode, your data stays on the backend tied to your account; reinstalling and signing back in restores it.
How do I invite my family?
Create a family in Family Mode, then share the 6-character invite code shown on your Family account screen. They enter it when they set up their own copy of the app.
Is there a limit to how many people can join a family?
Yes, 4 people per family.
Why does Batch ask for camera/photo access?
Only so you can attach a photo to a recipe or a cooking step. See the Privacy Policy for details on how photos are handled in each mode.
Why does Batch ask for notification permission?
So cook-mode timers can alert you when something's ready, even if your phone is locked.
How do I delete my Family Mode account or data?
