The Department of Education recognized the merit of having a comprehensive approach to the promotion of hygiene and sanitation practices among school children and a clean environment in and around schools to keep learners safe and healthy. Thus, the DepEd issued the Wash in Schools Policy (DepEd Order No. 10 s. 2016), as a holistic program for personal health care and environmental sanitation through a set of standards for proper and correct health practices in schools.
Stated in DepEd Order No. 10 are the eight Key Components of WASH in Schools Program namely:
1.Oral hygiene and proper handwashing;
2. Provision of safe and adequate water supply;
3. Provision of toilet, handwashing, and drainage facilities;
4. Environmental sanitation (including the elimination of breeding grounds for mosquitoes that carry the dengue virus) and solid waste management;
5. Food sanitation;
6. Menstrual Hygiene Management;
7. Deworming; and
8. Hygiene and sanitation education
Relevant to the Components of the Wash in Schools program, the school with the initiative of the teachers in-charge of the WinS Program and OK sa DepEd Team initiated programs and activities to achieve the Key Components of the said program and to achieve the objectives to ensure learners awareness on personal health care and environmental sanitation education to help the learners safe and healthy.
The active participation of everyone in the different programs and activities enable the attainment of the objectives of the program to educate the learners on personal health care and environmental sanitation to prevent the spread of diseases and reduce absences, and save lives.

Global Handwashing

(712) students joined in the handwashing and toothbrushing activity
Twenty-six (26) students participated in the Poster Making Contest
Six groups participated in the Dance Contest (one group per grade level)
Medical and Dental CheckUp Mission

Forty two (42) personnel of BNHS were checked-up during the Medical and Dental Mission
One hundred fifty recipients (adult and children) were catered during the Medical and Dental Mission
