SHAKESPEARE & CO ACTOR WINTER INTENSIVE 

• What: The Month-long Intensive is Shakespeare & Company’s signature workshop. Participants immerse themselves in voice, movement, text analysis, exploration of the actor/audience relationship, sonnet work, scene work, clown, stage fight, and in-depth discussions about the function of theater and the role of the actor in today’s world. The goal of the Month-long Intensive is to expand the actor’s vocal, physical, emotional, and imaginative responsiveness to language through daily movement and Linklater voice work, and to apply it to the delights and demands of Shakespeare’s text. Shakespeare & Company faculty offer an integrated approach in which each class complements and builds upon the others, and each participant receives careful and considered individualized attention and support. EMBODY DIVISING LAB

LORE: THE STORIES OF SALEM 

• What: Every person has a story. Salem has thousands. We want to hear yours. Introducing LORE, a new live storytelling event at the Salem Playhouse. The stories of Salem. Live. Unfiltered. For one night, we’re handing the stage over to you. On November 21, storytellers will take the stage to share true, personal stories built around one theme: “THIS YEAR, I AM THANKFUL FOR…” Funny. Heartbreaking. Unexpected. Awkward. Inspiring. Profound. Completely ordinary. We’re not looking for professional actors or experienced storytellers. We’re looking for real people with real stories worth sharing. (although actors and storytellers are certainly welcome). Send us a 2–3 minute video introducing us to your story, along with a short pitch telling us why you and this story belong on the LORE stage. Selected storytellers will work with us to hone, shape, and build their stories into a 6–10 minute live performance. You don’t need a script. You don’t need acting experience. You just need a story.

BOSTON THEATRE MARATHON SCRIPT SUBMISSIONS

• What: Boston Playwrights’ Theatre produces the annual Boston Theater Marathon (BTM), an award-winning, all-day marathon of new 10-minute plays. The plays are chosen from approximately 400 entries from New England playwrights, and the 50 selected plays are produced by 50 New England theatre companies which donate their time and talent to this event. Only New England-area playwrights are eligible. Submissions will be accepted from permanent residents in New England and/or those who have a New England mailing address in the following states: Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont. All scripts must play under ten minutes.

MAJESTIC THEATRE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM (CLOSED FOR 2026)

• What: The Majestic Theater (West Springfield, MA) announces a summer apprentice program, seeking to provide emerging artists in the Pioneer Valley and beyond with professional performance experience and educational offerings from industry professionals.  Majestic Theater Apprentices will perform in one or both Majestic Children’s Theater productions - 2026 season announced as Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!: The Musical! and The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. Additionally, apprentices will have non-performance responsibilities in administration, technical theater, front of house, and/or theater education. Program benefits include educational workshops led by Majestic Theater staff and other industry professionals, and a $250/week stipend. Limited housing may be available. Program runs approximately late June through mid August. This program is open to college-aged young professionals, current college students, and recent graduates with a declared major in a related field and/or relevant experience in theater performance.
