HOVEY PLAYERS CALL FOR DIRECTORS
Company: Hovey Players
What: Hovey currently produces two shows per year. Each year they invite local directors to submit scripts to the Hovey Board for consideration. Once the board has reviewed the submissions and scripts they may extend interview invitations to the directors we’ve selected as finalists. Once the interviews have been completed, the board will then notify the chosen directors and announce their season. What: Brighter Boston is a vocational training and internship program, where you get paid to work on professional theatre, concerts, and special events. This is a chance to learn valuable skills, work on professional shows, and start a career in a high-level industry. This opportunity is available for emerging artists ages 16-24, and specifically targets BIPOC artists and artists who have not attended/graduated from a 4-year university.

TRINITY REPERTORY APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM
What: Trinity Repertory Company’s apprenticeship program offers intensive professional training at a Tony Award-winning regional theater. BARRINGTON STAGE COMPANY'S MUSICAL THEATRE CONSERVATORY (MTC)
What: The Barrington Stage Company’s Musical Theatre Conservatory (MTC) offers an immersive 8-week training program designed for pre-professional performers. Guided by industry experts, participants will reside on our campus in the Berkshires. The rigorous curriculum encompasses acting, singing, and dance, culminating in two mainstage performances. Additionally, students will engage in master classes with renowned artists and gain insights into the business of performing and audition techniques, equipping them for success in the professional realm.

What: Commonwealth Shakespeare Company’s apprentice program is a 7.5-week summer intensive that gives early career performers a rigorous tour of Shakespeare’s language in professional practice and performance. The program includes training by CSC’s faculty and artists in Shakespeare’s Text, Linklater Voice, Movement, and several specialized workshop series.

What: The Creative Entrepreneur Fellowship (CEF) is designed to accelerate the careers and practice of a diverse group of artists and creative solopreneurs. CEF is a customized professional development experience for 8-10 individuals who are selected through a competitive application process. The Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston is currently looking to accept a small, diverse group of solopreneurs, entrepreneurs and artists working to build a professional practice. Coaching and teaching will be conducted in English and Spanish. Candidates for this program may include visual artists (e.g. public artists, photographers, painters, etc.), craft artists and artisans, performing artists, writers, and more.

MAJESTIC THEATRE APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM (CLOSED FOR 2026)
What: The Majestic Theater (West Springfield, MA) announces a summer apprentice program, seeking to provide emerging artists in the Pioneer Valley and beyond with professional performance experience and educational offerings from industry professionals. Majestic Theater Apprentices will perform in one or both Majestic Children’s Theater productions - 2026 season announced as Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!: The Musical! and The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical. Additionally, apprentices will have non-performance responsibilities in administration, technical theater, front of house, and/or theater education. Program benefits include educational workshops led by Majestic Theater staff and other industry professionals, and a $250/week stipend. Limited housing may be available. Program runs approximately late June through mid August. This program is open to college-aged young professionals, current college students, and recent graduates with a declared major in a related field and/or relevant experience in theater performance. The Majestic Theater welcomes and encourages applications from artists of all genders, races, ethnicities, and backgrounds. Applications will go live on the website February 2, 2026, followed by an interview/callback process for selected artists.
