This Privacy Policy explains what information the Bass Equalizer app ("the App", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using the App, you agree to this policy.
1. Summary
- We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, phone number or email address inside the App.
- Your equalizer settings, presets and hearing test results are stored only on your device.
- The App shows ads through Google AdMob and uses Google Firebase to find crashes and understand which features are used. These Google services collect some device information, described below.
- We never record, store or upload the audio you listen to.
2. Information stored only on your device
The following stays on your phone and is never sent to us:
- Equalizer, bass boost, virtualizer, volume and loudness settings
- Custom presets, per-app presets and preset backups you export
- Hearing test results and listening reminders
- Language, theme and other app preferences
If you uninstall the App or clear its data, this information is deleted.
3. Information collected by third-party services
a) Google AdMob (advertising)
The free version of the App shows banner, native, interstitial and rewarded ads through Google AdMob. To show and measure ads, AdMob may collect:
- Your device's advertising ID
- IP address (which can give an approximate location)
- Device model, operating system version, language and app version
- Ad interactions (for example, views and clicks)
Ads may be personalised based on this information, depending on your consent and your device settings.

b) Google Firebase Crashlytics (crash reports)
If the App crashes, Crashlytics sends a crash report containing device model, operating system version, app version and technical details of the error. It does not contain your music, presets or personal details.
You can turn this off at any time in Settings > Privacy > "Send crash reports".
c) Google Firebase Analytics (anonymous usage)
Analytics tells us which features are used (for example, which screens are opened or whether a preset was applied) so we can improve the App. It uses an app instance ID and device information. It never records what you listen to.
You can turn this off at any time in Settings > Privacy > "Share anonymous usage".

d) Google Play Billing (Premium purchase)
If you buy Premium, the payment is handled entirely by Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. We only receive confirmation that the purchase is valid, so Premium can be unlocked on your device.
4. Consent for ads (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the App asks for your consent through Google's User Messaging Platform before showing personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time from Settings > Privacy policy (Ads).
5. Device permissions
The App only asks for permissions it needs, and each is used only for the feature described:
- Modify audio settings: to apply the equalizer and sound effects.
- Notifications: to show the equalizer control notification and listening reminders.
- Foreground service and start at boot: to keep the equalizer running and restore it after a restart.
- Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO), optional: Android requires this permission to read the audio visualiser for the live spectrum display. The App does not record, save or upload any audio. You can use the App without granting it.
- Camera, optional: only to scan a QR code when you import a shared preset. Images are processed on your device and are not saved or uploaded.
- Notification access, optional: only to show the song title and artist of the music that is playing on the "Now playing" card. This information stays on your device.
- Internet and network state: to load ads and send crash reports and anonymous usage statistics.
6. How we use information
We use the information described above only to:
- Provide and improve the App's features
- Fix crashes and errors
- Show ads that keep the App free
- Unlock and restore Premium purchases
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Sharing of information
We do not share your information with anyone, except with the service providers listed in section 3 (Google AdMob, Google Firebase and Google Play), which process it under their own privacy policies, or when required by law.
8. Data retention
Data stored on your device is kept until you delete it or uninstall the App. Data collected by Google services is kept according to Google's retention policies. Firebase Crashlytics keeps crash reports for 90 days.
9. Children's privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will help remove it.
10. Your rights and choices
- Turn off crash reports and usage statistics in Settings > Privacy.
- Reset or limit ad personalisation from your device settings (Settings > Google > Ads, or Settings > Privacy > Ads, depending on your phone).
- Change your ad consent choice in the App (EEA, UK and Switzerland).

Depending on where you live (for example, under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 or the EU GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data. Contact us at the email below to make a request.
11. Security
We use the security measures provided by Android and Google services. Data stored on your device is protected by your device's own security. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Continuing to use the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
