SMART-AVIC project update: the project was successfully completed at the end of 2025. With our 1:5 scaled vehicle prototype with 4 onboard electric motors we were able to achieve autonomous drifting on a circular path. A paper describing that is to be submitted shortly. Also, a joint Italy-US paper was presented at the 29th International Symposium on dynamics of vehicles on roads and tracks IAVSD 2025, Shanghai, China.

We recently got our new vehicle prototype: a modified Alfa Romeo Giulia, featuring individual brake-by-wire capabilities, a dSPACE MicroAutoBox III, a Kistler Wheel-Force Transducer, and much more... this will be tremendously helpful for the group activities.
