About

The Basehor-Linwood Kiwanis Club was founded in January 2024. Local residents noticed opportunities where we can help provide support to children and officially formed with the help of the well-established Leavenworth and Lansing clubs. The best way to improve our community is to be the catalyst for change, so what started as a group of strangers has become a welcoming group of friends, and we are working together to build a strong foundation to support local children for years to come.

Kiwanis International was founded in 1915 in Detroit, Michigan. Although it was originally created as a business networking club, it changed focus in 1919 to provide support to children. Over the years, the club has grown and spread to many towns in the US and 70+ other nations and geographic locations that have active chapters.
