DATES TBD
While improvisational roleplay rarely follows the bounds of a schedule, we will do our best to follow the rough structure below, and to communicate changes in timing as they occur.
Friday
Afternoon: staff and player volunteers set up camp
6pm: player check-in and weapons check opens
9pm: game-on meeting
Overnight (between 2am and 9am) is a “soft stop”: you may continue playing (and should remain in-character in public spaces), but no staff-run plot will be sent out, and players should use this time to rest up.
Saturday
9am breakfast
5pm - 7pm soft stop for Community Feast
2am - 9am soft stop
Sunday
9am breakfast
Game-off no later than 3pm
Players will choose at registration if they are staying in a cabin on the campsite, tenting on-site, or sleeping off-site.
The Girl Scout Cabin (central cabin) will be used as the Cloister (central downtime location for players) and will also function as a location for collecting and storing player notebooks during game.
Players are encouraged to set-up player run locations by the cabins, but must email staff to let them know so we can designate space for them.
Staff will provide three meals each event covered by your event ticket: Saturday breakfast, lunch, and Sunday breakfast. Players are welcome and encouraged to help in preparation and clean-up for any of these meals and this time will be counted as Community Points. The kitchen will remain a partially in-game space to allow players to continue growing and sharing in-character as they help provide for their community. Registration will include a space to inform staff about any allergies or dietary restrictions you have and we will do our best to accommodate these in our menu decision.
During Saturday soft stop there is a period called the Community Feast. During this timeframe, players are encouraged to cook their own food and create a potluck style dinner that they share with their community in town. There is a fridge available for some food storage on the player side of the campsite, but we encourage bringing your own coolers since space is limited. We also encourage bringing your own cooking implements, crock pots, camping stoves, or to make use of the fire pits or grill located on the player side of the campsite (pending no fire ban is in place). All fires must be monitored by a player until extinguished. If serving food to your fellow players or NPCs, please clearly label with ingredients to avoid any incidents with allergies or intolerances.
During the Saturday Community Feast from 5pm to 7pm staff will not run any plot major or minor. However we do encourage players to remain in character to roleplay with each other and any NPCs who may come to visit. Players are always welcome to leave the site to get food as needed, feel free to ask the Abbist about local dining locations.
Barrow's Watch uses a sliding scale payment system. In order to cover our costs we ask that players that are able to pay, pay at least $80 per event. If you are not able to afford that fee for any reason, please pay what you feel comfortable with or inform staff if you need the fee entirely waived.
If you are able to pay more than the base cost, those funds will be added to a pool. 50% of any additional funds will be used to cover entry for other players and 50% will be donated to the New England Wildlife Center. We will also have the option to pre-pay for all eight events when initial registration opens.
