I want to encourage an environment where diversity is celebrated and inclusion is the norm. This needs to be done actively and I have taken steps to be involved in doing this within my department.

I was one of the founding members of the Early Career Researcher (ECR) Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Action Group for Biology at Oxford. As part of the steering committee, I am involved in organising events, coordinating with the department, and administrative duties.

I am on the Athena Swan committee's Postgraduate sub-group which looks at recognising what the department is currently doing to advance the careers of women in STEMM (Science technology engineering maths and medicine) and encourages it to do more.

Last year I gave seminars to the first year undergrads on the book 'Superior : The Return of Race Science' as part of Oxford Biology's drive to decolonise the curriculum.
