National PTA has a long-standing commitment to arts education. The Reflections program provides opportunities for recognition and access to the arts, which boost student confidence and success in the arts and in life.

Our Barka students, in grades K-5 can create original works of art in response to a student-selected theme. Students participate in the appropriate division for their grade: Primary (Pre-K - Grade 2), Intermediate (Grades 3-5), and Special Artist* (All grades welcome).

*Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter in the Special Artist Division or grade division most closely aligned to their functional abilities. 

This year's theme...

"SHOW YOUR VOICE"

Entries due Friday, December 2nd

To Enter:

1. Choose a category.

2. Decide how your artwork will reflect this year's theme of "Show Your Voice."

3. Create your artwork!!

4. Write: In 10 to 100 words, describe your work and how your work relates to the theme "Show Your Voice." Students MUST use at least 10 words. 

5. Go to the Derry PTA Reflections site for additional information about the PTA Reflections program, including the rules. *Please follow the rules carefully.

6. Go to the Derry student entries site and find the Barka Student Entry Form. 

7. Fill out the Student Entry form on your device. Download/Save the completed form.

8. Submit the form on the same Derry student entries site. Follow the steps for uploading artwork. 

9. Drop off your artwork in the school office. 

Important to Note: 

Students MUST use their own words to describe their project. 

40% of judging is how they relate their work to the theme.
