Hi, I'm Alexa Barger, the artist behind Barger Customs, LLC.
Although I was born in North Carolina, I'm a Florida girl through and through. Creativity has always been a part of my life. My dad is a tattoo artist, and I grew up around tattoo shops, spending countless hours drawing, painting, coloring, and creating. Being surrounded by artists from a young age inspired my passion for art and taught me the value of turning ideas into something meaningful.
Barger Customs has evolved through many creative outlets over the years. From digital art, which I still create today, to painting, arts and crafts, and custom projects, I've always enjoyed finding new ways to bring ideas to life.
What began as a childhood passion eventually grew into Barger Customs. Looking back, it feels like a natural combination of the two worlds I grew up in. My dad inspired my love for art and creativity, while my mom, a business owner herself, showed me what it takes to build something of your own. Barger Customs is where those two influences came together, a business built around creativity, hard work, and the belief that meaningful, handmade pieces still matter.
While many people recognize my work for its coastal and marine influence, I enjoy creating a wide range of subjects including wildlife, western pieces, pets, vehicles, landscapes, and personalized artwork. I don't like being limited to one style or theme, and I love the challenge of bringing each client's vision to life.
"Creativity begins where availability ends. If I can't find it, I'll create it."
That mindset has followed me throughout my entire life. Over the years I've explored countless creative outlets, from digital art and painting to custom shoes, handbags, clothing, jewelry, clay work, papier-mâché sculptures, and just about everything in between. If it involves creating something with my hands, chances are I've tried it.
Living in Florida continues to inspire much of my work. From the water and wildlife to fishing, boating, and the outdoors, inspiration can be found almost everywhere. At the same time, I enjoy stepping outside of those themes and creating pieces that are completely unique to the people who commission them.
When I'm not creating, you'll usually find me outdoors, spending time on the water, exploring new places, or hanging out with my miniature dachshund, Goose, who is often nearby while I work.
When I'm not painting, you're usually find me with my dachshund, Goose, who considers himself my studio manager, despite having absolutely no artistic qualifications.
Thank you for supporting my artwork and following along on this journey. Every commission, purchase, share, and kind word helps me continue doing what I love.
