My engagement with the people of Special Olympics was really meaningful for me because I feel like I really learned from them as well as they learned to form me. All of them were super kind and loving people that had big hearts and that really touched me to the core. They were all very happy and makes me think of how grateful I am for my life and also I like how they are happy with theirs.

Even though my time at lifting hands was short it was very meaningful. I listened to many stories of how the people there in Los Anonos are living with Covid and being quarantined. I learned more about the privileges I have in this pandemic. These people are always with a smile even with the circumstances there are living in. This was really touching because it makes me think of how people should always look at the bright parts of bad situations.

Dropp Off of Supplies at Lifting Hands 2021
During my second semester of sophomore year and the first semester of junior year, I went out with a church group to feed the homeless throughout the city of San Jose Costa Rica. This is a community service that started years ago in a Christian church, and even though I am not a follower of the religion nor a member of the church I was allowed to join in for good service. This experience actually allowed me to see how some people live and what can seem like something small to some can be huge for others.
