Barb Hlachova

My name is Barb and I am a first year PhD student in psychology at UC Davis, supervised by Professor Fernanda Ferreira (Ferreira lab).

In 2023, I completed an MSt. in Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics (Research Preparation) at the University of Oxford, supervised by Professor E. Matthew Husband. Previously, in 2022, I completed my B.A. in Linguistics and B.S. in Mathematics (Applied) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where I worked in Professor Brian Dillon's lab.

In 2021, I was a summer intern at the Harvard Lab for Developmental Studies with Professor Jesse Snedeker, under the mentorship of Dr. Anthony Yacovone.

My research interests thus far have mainly been within psycholinguistics, specifically centered around the nature of predictive mechanisms in sentence processing in language comprehension, in both children and adults.
