Once the girls were dressed and ready, we applied decals to the nails and/or faces, let them choose accessories from various bins (i.e. purse bin, jewelry bin, prop bin) and lined them up! When it was their turn, each one stepped into the life-size Barbie box I had made and did her best Barbie fashion pose. She then strutted her stuff down the runway, stopping to pose in front of the step and repeat I had made. This gave parents an opportunity to photograph their little ones as they went by!

Barbie turns 50 this March but the classic doll was still turning heads recently at New York's Fashion Week, where models styled as Mattel's fashion icon took to the catwalk in designer outfits.

Over 50 world-renowned fashion designers, such as Vera Wang, Badgley Mischka, Tommy Hilfilger and Calvin Klein came together for the first time ever in New York and showcased real-size, Barbie-inspired looks.

In order to get K to try things on for me, I always tell her that we must do a fashion show for dad. But I have never before filmed her fashion show, so when I offered to video her fashion show my little ham was over the moon excited. We even did a few practice runs first.

Millicent's is a location in Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale. It is a fashion house in Paris, France, owned by and named after Millicent, Barbie's aunt. Jacqueline's, a rivalling fashion house, is across the street from Millicent's. Millicent's is the home of the Glitterizer and the flairies: Shyne, Shimmer and Glimmer. Marie-Alecia works at Millicent's as a fashion designer.

Millicent's designs was stolen by Jacqueline, the owner of Jacqueline's, and her assistant Delphine, and they're claimed the designs as their owns. Because Millicent and her fashion designer Marie-Alecia have no idea to create the new design, Millicent's was bankrupt. She sell the fashion house to the owner of the hotdogeteria restaurant, and plan to moving to the country due to being unsuccessful.

After Barbie and Marie-Alecia meets the Flairies, Barbie has an idea, with Marie-Alecia's new design ideas, and the helping from the Flairies, they'll make a fashion show to raise money, to buy the fashion house back from the owner of hotdogeteria restaurant. Jacqueline knows their plan, and she also make fashion show in the same day as Millicent's fashion show. She kidnap the Flairies and forced them to make their design is sparkly and shiny in "their" design clothes.

Because Jacqueline has greatfully promotions, peoples interested more to come in Jacqueline's fashion show. Suddenly, the clothes began to smell like gym socks and the designs started to melt away. Everyone left the show and come to Millicent's show. The fashion show was successfull. After the show, a lady orders ten thousand pieces from the fashion line, and Millicent is able to buy the fashion house back.

The cake itself was a good teamwork between Fonny Lasmana and Cecilia Selvya Go. We were really proud with the final result. This was probably the cutest cake that we have ever done so far. Meghana came with the design of the cake. She chose all the colors. We made two main figurines holding hands together: Meghana and Avani as the show stoppers. The mini B barbies were walking on the catwalk stage. Each cupcake had a unique stylish item: purse, dress, or hat.

The party would not be complete without the fashion show. All the kids took turn to walk on the stage and to end this party, we welcomed Avani with her pretty dress and feather scarf as the show stopper.

Oh my god.. what a great idea! I loved barbies in my elementary years too.. I would be devastated when my brother and his friends would shave their heads off! My sister and I loved the Barbies that came with shower mousse!

This show was one of my favorites growing up, and unlike some cartoons, it still remains fresh as I watch it today! This show strikes a wonderful balance between a kid friendly comedy and a dark but hopeful drama. There are times where the show will make you laugh with how silly it is, and make you want to cry with how emotional and tragic the storyline can get.
