Project Connect
On October 16, 2019, I had the opportunity to represent BioFit Engineered Products, along with a couple of coworkers, in volunteering at the Project Connect Wood County event.
“Project Connect Wood County is designed to provide immediate goods and services to homeless individuals, as well as those nearing homelessness and impacted by poverty. Basic needs and critical services are provided in one day, at one location, such as haircuts, hygiene products, birth certificates, health screenings, holiday assistance, and much more. This event, based on a hospitality model, requires several hundred volunteers working together each year for planning and execution. Most volunteers serve as “hosts” for our guests, the families coming to benefit from area community services” (United Way in Wood County).
Volunteering is an essential part of society; individuals come together to complete everyday tasks to better support the work and development of society for a noble cause. Throughout history, volunteering has evolved into a cultural connection, a common characteristic of humans on a local, national, and global level with the desire to help one another.
Thank you Biofit for this opportunity!
